I get a second call from Ms. IdiotbagsĀ this morning. (Not her real name)
Ms. Idiotbags: “Hi there, just following up to see if you sent me that file yesterday.”
Me: “Yes, while we were on the phone yesterday. Didn’t you get it?”
“Oh, okay, good. So about what time was that?”
“Well, I can’t tell, because I’m talking on the phone I sent it from. It was whenever you called yesterday.”
“Okay, I’ll check and see if it came in.”
“Wait. This is the second time you’ve called to confirm I sent something without first checking to see if it came in. Not trying to tell you how to do your job, but it’s less annoying to check first, then call if it doesn’t come.”
I mean… I wonder — do other people have to deal with such an obnoxious level of incompetence?!?

n00b: Can you please introduce me to the bloggers you work with?
me: Yeah, I already did that on Wednesday while we were on the phone.
n00b: I didn’t get it.
me: Well that’s curious, because everyone else on the email got it. Check your junk folder
n00b: It’s not there, can you send it again?
[days pass]
n00b: I really need that introduction.
me: I really sent it to you twice already.
n00b: Well I didn’t get it.
me: Well, everyone else did. I don’t know how to fix your email.
n00b: Well how am I going to get it?
me: Well, you can either fix your email or I can print them out and mail them to you. Beyond that, I’m out of ideas.
I suggest using Mariela’s new coping mechanism. She just screams, “Why am I surrounded by SUCH IGNORANCE!!!!???!?!?” Its a stress reliever, even when aimed directly at me!
You have to push the “SUCH IGNORANCE” loudly through tightly clenched jaws preferably. It just works!
